Iodine Gel Iodosorb Cadexomer .35 oz
Function:
IODOSORB .9% Cadexomer Iodine Gel is designed to be a highly absorbent gel, while still providing a moist wound-healing environment. This gel assists in wound area protection and in reducing bacteria at the wound surface. IODOSORB is bactericidal against 103 isolates of MRSA and 101 strains of P. aeruginosa (in vitro). Broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity for up to 72 hours is also provided. This gel helps to remove exudate and debris, leading to effective wound bed preparation and desloughing, and each gram absorbs up to 3 ml of fluid.
Caution / Application:
The color of the gel changes from brown to yellow/gray when it’s time for the dressing to be changed. IODOSORB Cadexomer Iodine Gel is indicated for use in cleaning wet ulcers and wounds such as venous ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, and infected traumatic and surgical wounds. Apply no more than 1.8 ounces in a single application, or 5.3 ounces in a week onto a wound, unless directed to do so by a doctor. Do not use continuously for more than 3 months.
